The Santa Caterina is a hotel with a long tradition, located about 1 km from the center of Amalfi, in a beautiful location, overlooking the sea. The gardens by which it is surrounded are truly exceptional in extent: terraces descending to the sea, on one side rich in multicolored flowers and lush bougainvillea, and on the other with orange and lemon trees. A large part of the land is planted with vegetable gardens, so as to supply the kitchens with fresh vegetables in every season. In recent years the hotel has been completely renovated, always scrupulously respecting the original vaguely Art Nouveau style, and in 1985 it was classified as 5-star.
The rooms, each one different from the other, have been renovated to offer the Client maximum comfort; all with balconies and sea views, each one has at least one piece of antiques and is equipped with a direct-dial telephone, air conditioning, whirlpool tub, mini-bar and satellite color TV. The bathrooms are a rare example of refined luxury and functionality: in those of the suites (some of which have double vanities), large “Jacuzzi” tubs with hydromassage have been installed. Of the 65 rooms, some are in the Villa Santa Caterina, located in the center of the citrus grove.
The hotel has a Wellness Center that offers facial and body treatments as well as beauty treatments all made with products from a well-known French house and with fruits and herbs from the botanical garden located in the beautiful St. Catherine’s Park. The Center is also equipped with a steam bath, sauna and Scottish shower. The gym, with its sophisticated sports equipment, seawater swimming pool and solarium with sun beds and umbrellas are available to Guests free of charge.
The hotel also has a fully equipped conference room, with simultaneous translation available upon request.
Cocktail hour in the hotel bar is always a special occasion: classic cocktails and fancy long drinks are served with impeccable attention, accompanied by warm savouries or canapés.
The sea area deserves a separate mention: the rocky cove with platforms, seawater pool, and gymnasium can be reached either through the citrus grove or via two panoramic elevators embedded in the rock: this area also has an efficient bar service.
In addition, the hotel boasts two restaurants: the 1-Michelin-starred Glicine, led by Chef Giuseppe Stanzione, and the Ristorante Al Mare located down the slope leading to the Beach Club.
