In 1610, the nobleman Giulio Bonito Principe di Casapesenna built the Chapel of Sant’Anna in Pogerola at the rear of his property, which also included the Pogerola tower, in Sopramare.
The building has a simple gabled façade. There is a lunette on the door with a twentieth-century fresco, perhaps the work of Ignazio Lucibello which portrays Sant’Anna with the Virgin Mary as a child. Behind the wooden high altar, we find the painting of the Nascita della Vergine, in a faux marble frame, created by an unknown painter from the circle of Marco Pino da Siena, who worked in the first half of the 17th century.
