Limited Traffic Zone (LTZ)

In Amalfi, and in particular in the historic center, by Ordinance No. 7 of the P.M. issued in March, a pedestrian island is ordered for the entire day, with the exception of short time slots.
An administrative action aimed at facilitating pedestrian walking and better enjoyment of Amalfi by tourists.

Recommendations

It is recommended that the following information be followed in order to arrange arrival and departure, along with vehicle entries and exits to and from Amalfi.

LIMITED TRAFFIC ZONE (LTZ)

The establishment of the Limited Traffic Zone between Mansone I Street, Cathedral Square, Lorenzo d’Amalfi Street, Pietro Capuano Street and Largo Spirito Santo prohibits the circulation of all vehicles except in exceptional cases.

Access in it is allowed:                                                 

  • to hotel guests arriving (checking in) at the relevant facilities;         
  • to vehicles serving disabled persons with the personal markings;    
  • to non-scheduled public service vehicles (cabs and rental cars with drivers) when the Limited Traffic Zone is the departure or arrival of the service-ride;
  • to other categories consulted in the full text of the Ordinance.

Infopoint

The infopoint is located at the Arsenal of the Republic with the following days and opening hours:

  • Monday through Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • During the summer months outside the Arsenal will also operate the Fast Information Point from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Recommendations

During the peak season, stringent measures are taken to facilitate easier movement of vehicles, with traffic restriction measures such as one-way streets, alternate license plates and maximum vehicle dimensions. For more information click here!

LUNA ROSSA PARKING

The Luna Rossa parking lot is located at the entrance to Amalfi, 35 Pantaleone Comite Street. It is an unattended multi-story parking lot and can accommodate 170 cars and 30 motorcycles and scooters for parking. It is essential to keep in mind that for safety reasons, cars powered by gas or natural gas, and vehicles taller than 2 meters do not have access to the Luna Rossa parking lot. The Luna Rossa parking lot is the only one in Amalfi that allows long-stay parking, giving users the option of leaving their car or motorcycle parked for one or more days. FLAVIO GIOIA PARKING

Flavio Gioia is a split parking area adjacent to Amalfi's historic center near Flavio Gioia Square. It is a parking area reserved for cars, which also houses spaces for the reception and departure of bus passengers. Right here is also handled the pick-up of passengers arriving by bus. PARKING RATES ON ALL AREAS

November 6 to December 26, as well as January 8 to March 27:

- 2 euros per hour, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

- 1 euro per hour, from 4:01 p.m. to 8:59 a.m.

* To provide that car rates (non-residents) during the periods indicated, on all parking areas, limited to the daytime time slot, be increased by 1 euro per hour or fraction thereof, exclusively for the first two hours of use.

December 27 to January 7:

- 4 euros per hour, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

- 2 euros per hour, from 6:01 p.m. to 8:59 a.m.

* To provide that car rates (non-residents) from Dec. 27, 2022 to Jan. 6, 2023, on all parking areas, limited to the daytime time slot, shall be increased by 2 euros per hour or fraction thereof, exclusively for the first two hours of use.

Only at Luna Rossa Parking will it be possible to leave your car or motorcycle parked for one or more days at the following rates:

- Maundy Thursday to Nov. 3, Dec. 27 to Jan. 6, 40 euros per day;

- November 4 to December 26, January 7 to March 31, 25 euros per day; August, 45 euros per day.

SCOOTER PARKING AREA

In Amalfi there are two open-air parking areas, paid for by parking meter, for about 200 motorcycles and scooters: the Marinella, along the Lungomare dei Cavalieri, and Piazzale dei Protontini, which is on the same street continuing toward the port. The parking payment system is designed specifically for motorcycles and scooters: the parking meter is asked to enter the vehicle's license plate, and the coupon that is issued is adhesive and must be attached to the parked vehicle. When you go away, simply detach it. The issued ticket includes a courtesy reminder coupon to be kept that shows the exact time when the stop expires. GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Overland connections are served by the transport company SITA Sud which covers all-day time slots. Tickets can be purchased digitally via Unico Campania app, Mooney App and Drop Ticket.

Tickets can be purchased in paper form at the following Amalfi outlets: Dejavu Cafe & Drinks (closed Saturdays) and Souvenir di Camera Rossana (closed Tuesdays). In addition, paper tickets can also be purchased from the SITA Sud staff present at Flavio Gioia Square during the following time slots: 07:15am - 8:00pm (weekdays) and 12:45am - 7:00pm (holidays). Another local public transport service is operated by Amalfi Coast sustainable mobility consortium, which offers direct connections to major destinations on the Amalfi Coast. A service with reserved seats and GPS tracking equipped with an easy and intuitive reservation system via App or multilingual website.

SEA FREIGHT

During your stay in Amalfi, it will be possible to reach the main resorts on the Amalfi Coast via sea connections served by the Travelmar ferry company . The company allows pets to be transported for an additional fee of 5.00 euros each way.

INTERNAL CONNECTIONS

The town of Amalfi also offers a year-round internal shuttle service that runs through the town's historic center and an overnight summer service that connects Amalfi with the hamlets of Tovere, Vettica, and Pogerola. For more information on times and ticket costs click here.
