Tour Description
The Amalfi – Atrani walk begins in Piazza Duomo and crosses: the Supportico S. Andrea, emblem of the defense system against attacks by the dreaded Saracens; the Church of St. Little Anne, patroness of expectant mothers; and the ceramic panel narrating the Stages of the translation of the relics of the Apostle Andrew brought from Constantinople to Amalfi by Cardinal Pietro Capuano.
Joints in Piazza Municipio, located in the heart of Rione Campolillo, you will walk up stairs, an identifying element of coastal towns, which will allow you to admire: lush terraces where lemons, the so-called Sfusati Amalfitani, are still grown; wonderful views of the bell tower of the St. Andrew’s Cathedral and terraces overlooking the sea that will lead to the Belvedere of San Lorenzo.
From here we will take the stairs downhill in the direction of Atrani and then return to Amalfi via the scenic road that will lead back to the center of town.
