Itinerary
The proposal combines a guided bike tour and three self-guided tours to discover the Divine Coast’s most famous locations.
Day 1 - Guided Bike Tour - Amalfi - Agerola
Depart Amalfi, climb through Furore to reach Agerola where, depending on clients’ timing and sportsmanship, one may proceed to the Lauritano Castle of San Lazzaro and/or the Paipo lookout, including a lunch break at a restaurant, before returning to Amalfi.
Day 2 - Self-Guided Bike Tour - Amalfi - Positano
From Amalfi, set off on the famous SS163 through the villages of Conca dei Marini and Praiano, until you reach and visit the town of Positano. Along the way, you can stop at the Emerald Grotto and admire the Fjord of Furore, both on the way out and on the way back.
Option: 2: Amalfi- Sorrento
The more trained can continue to Sorrento to add this other famous destination as well, keeping in mind that it will be necessary to tackle a more challenging climb on the return, on a longer route.
Day 3 - Self-Guided Bike Tour - Amalfi - Vietri sul Mare
Driving along the SS163 Amalfitana, one passes through Atrani, Minori, Maiori and Cetara, to reach the ceramic city Vietri sul Mare. We return on the same route sprinkled with scenic viewpoints, with continuous climbs and descents, the most challenging of which is 5 km to the headland of Capo d’Orso.
Option 2: Amalfi – Salerno
Those who do not fear some slightly busier stretches can continue a few more kilometers to reach and visit Salerno, the provincial capital.
Day 4 - Self-Guided Bike Tour - Amalfi - Ravello
Departing from Amalfi, we pass through Atrani to face the ascent to Ravello, where we stop for a short visit. Time permitting, a ride to Scala can be added. Then continue the ascent to the Chiunzi Pass with its viewpoint of Vesuvius, and possible lunch break. On the way back to Amalfi, we pass through the vineyards of Tramonti and the villages of Maiori and Minori.
