Discovery tours of the Amalfi Coast by sea and land.
If you are looking for a fun and active Amalfi vacation, the Summer Edition proposal is the right one.
Maximum number of participants: 10
Availability: 01/04 – 31/10
Recommended mode of transport:
Travelmar (by sea) or SITA South Bus (by land).
The proposal combines 2 kayak tours and a low difficulty trek to discover the Lemon Trail.
Kayak tours will lead to the discovery of hidden beaches reachable only by sea, ideal for snorkeling or swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Amalfi Coast.
The tour will have a short introductory lecture on navigation and safety at sea and will last from 3 to 3 hours and 30minutes.
Kayak tours will take you along the Amalfi Coast’s most beautiful beaches, passing through sea caves of all shapes and sizes, natural arches, hidden beaches and freshwater waterfalls. Lemon groves, ancient watchtowers, and the multitude of private villas nestled among the rocks provide the backdrop.
Along the way you will reach the enchanting Arco dell’Amore, Sofia Loren’s luxurious villa, the seaside village of Conca dei Marini, the Spiaggia della Vite overlooked by the Borgo Sant’Andrea hotel, and the natural grotto of Sant’Andrea, the largest sea cave on the entire Amalfi Coast and the only one with a walkable beach inside.
Meeting point: Lido of the Sirens
Walking along the Lemon Trail that connects Maiori to Minori, one will cross the paths that were once trodden by a multitude of farmers and mules. Along this route, Sfusato Amalfitano, a typical variety of lemon that grows only in these areas, is still grown.
Along the way you will get a closer look at the hard work that revolves around the cultivation of Sfusato Amalfitano. Between June and August, men will be encountered along the way carrying heavy crates of lemons on their shoulders or on the backs of their “ciucci” (mules).
The route passes through churches, small villages and viewpoints among which “The Belvedere of the Mortella” (dialect name for the myrtle plant) stands out. In the distance are glimpses of the enchanting villages of Ravello, Amalfi and Atrani.
After a brief explanation of the itinerary and a small introductory lecture on navigation and safety at sea, we will set sail westward toward “Amalfi.”
Kayaking along the coast you will be able to admire how the “Lattari Mountains” plunge into the sea, creating a spectacle that is never dull or predictable!
Starting from Maiori and paddling west, we will pass Minori, a village that during the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies was considered one of the main centers of production of “handmade pasta.” Along the way you will encounter: watchtowers; the beach of Castiglione di Ravello, a small beach where you can stop for a short break, ideal for snorkeling thanks to its crystal-clear waters; the village of Atrani, Italy’s smallest town and cradle of ancient traditions; and finally Amalfi, the first Maritime Republic once inhabited by skilled navigators, traders and shipwrights.
