“A ponte ‘e Lone” is a suspended belvedere with a splendid panoramic view. To the right, you can see the steep peaks of Agerola interrupted by terraces of lemon trees, olive groves and vineyards that are dotted with the numerous clusters of houses, villas, churches and bell towers sloping down to the sea.
At the top of the rocky headland in the municipality of Conca dei Marini, towards the west, stands the former convent of S. Rosa, recognisable by the small cell windows and the tiled dome of the chapel. The monastery, now converted into a hotel, retains much of its original structure. Founded in 1680 by Sister Maria Pandolfo, it owes its fame to the fact that the famous “Santa Rosa” sfogliatella was created in its kitchen by the nuns of the convent.
Further down, still to the west, you can see the Vettica watchtower. The tower, with its typical square shape, was built along with many other coastal towers by Duke Alcalá. Duoglio beach stretches below the scenic plaza, while a staircase branches off the northern side, leading to the churchyard of La Nativita’ di Maria SS.
