There is a cave between the villages of Tovere and Vettica Minore where the remains of an ancient monastic hermitage can still be found.
The site is known to have existed since 1138. In the large cave, accessed by a path starting from Via Maestra dei Villaggi, from both Tovere and Vettica Minore, there are now retaining walls, the remains of the church, built in several stages and other items connected with the life of a monk.
