History, charm and attention to detail-three elements that certainly characterize Villa Lauro Old Chapel, an independent (and one-of-a-kind) luxury home that has anancient history behind it, indeed, at its foundation.
A long and fascinating story...
We are in the early 1700s when the structure was a chapel because of its architectural features and the frescoes on the ceilings.
“…formerly served as a belvedere turret within the lemon terraces, then, in 1875, following the abandonment of the adjacent Lone Church, the turret was transformed into a Sacred Chapel to house, until the early 1900s, Our Lady of Lone. On that occasion, early decorations were made to the vaults that still exist. In the early 1920s it was then converted into a residential house until 2010, when major renovations were made to the building…”
The facility today has every comfort and is an ideal place for dream vacations. In one of the frescoed bedrooms, the original painting of the Madonna originally located in the Old Chapel stands out on the headboard, a sign of history, tradition, and art that remains deliberately firmly established in the decor of this place. What has been chosen to do is to transform this residence but leaving its past and history alive.
Attention to detail...
In short, a unique, historic and fascinating place that now hosts visitors who have come to town to admire the beauty of Amalfi and enjoy local experiences.
